A Gentleman’s Quarters
Typically, the oldest male child received this room when he was old enough to care for himself as these quarters provided no servant’s entrance. Located on the second floor overlooking the side veranda and century-old trees, sons Walter and James U. Jr each took a turn living in this room, but it was the youngest son, John Williams who took up residence here for more than 60 years. The room is adorned with fine paintings of hunting dogs and is furnished with a four poster king bed residing atop of an antique needle point rug. A pair of Queen Anne high back chair and a beautiful carved breakfront also reside here, given to Mr. Jackson by the Governor of South Carolina upon the completion of Rosemary. The private bath has a shower/tub combination and a closet for your convenience.
